Maestro® Occupancy Sensors

Why Use Occupancy/Vacancy Sensors?

Want a convenient way to save energy in your home? A Maestro Occupancy Sensors automatically turns lights on when you enter a room and off when you leave. It’s ideal for rooms where lights are often accidentally left on, such as a child’s room, or rooms where you often enter with your hands full, such as a laundry room.

Lutron offers two types of sensors: Maestro Occupancy Sensing Switch and Maestro Occupancy Sensing Dimmer

Features and Benefits

Lutron Sensors:
Occupancy vs. Vacancy

Occupancy vs. Vacancy Sensors

Where to Use an Occupancy Sensor:
  • Use an occupancy sensor in rooms that you often enter with your hands full, such as a kitchen, a laundry room, or a storage room
Where to Use a Vacancy Sensor:
  • In a child’s room to ensure the lights are never accidentally left on
  • In a bedroom so the lights won’t turn on at night if your partner walks in while you’re sleeping
  • In a hallway so that pets won’t inadvertently trigger the lights

The Lutron Difference

All Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensors feature:
  • Advanced XCT sensing technology, which detects minor motion, eliminating false shut-offs
  • Ambient light detection, which turns lights on only when there is insufficient daylight
  • Compatibility with a broad range of lamp types - C.L dimmers work with dimmable CFL and LED, and incandescent/halogen loads; switches work with all lamp types
  • Quick installation - no neutral wire required
  • 900 square foot coverage area
