| University of Toronto's new electronic classroom features adjustable lighting which can be brought to full intensity for lectures or lowered for multimedia presentations with sufficient light for note-taking. | ||
| The University of Toronto's new "electronic classroom" combines familiar audio visual equipment, such as slide projectors and VCRs, with such sophisticated equipment, such as multi-sync NEC data/video projection system and GRAFIK Eye multi-scene preset dimming controls. Instructors can now electronically enhance their lectures with an integrated user-friendly presentation system, replacing a variety of equipment which was often not compatible. | ||
| Lutron's GRAFIK Eye preset dimming control lets the lecturer select desired combinations of lighting for recall at the touch of a button. Adcom's Iroom™ software integrates all devices - VCR, data/video projector, document camera, and lighting. These two systems come together using icons on a touch screen VGA monitor embedded in the console that serves as the room's control panel. | ||

This educational vision of the future was developed through the efforts of University Information Commons, Lutron and Adcom personnel. Simplicity in design and usage, budget, and purpose were key elements which were delineated and satisfied. Lutron's GRAFIK Eye lighting control system was specified because it is sophisticated, yet simple and easy to use. | |
