How the Eye Perceives Light

Light as it is measured is different from light as it is perceived.  For example, 1% measured light is perceived as 10% light by the human eye, and 10% measured light is seen as 32% light.  Because the eye works this way naturally, less lighting can be used.  This means dimming can create significant energy savings.
