Lutron Enters the Outdoor Lighting Control Market – Introducing Limelight by Lutron in a Partnership with TwistHDM

Lighting controls leader now offers customers complete lighting control for interior and exterior spaces

COOPERSBURG, Pa. (May 8, 2018)Lutron Electronics, the leader in lighting controls and automated shading solutions, today announces its partnership with TwistHDM and the launch of Limelight by Lutron, a best-in-class wireless exterior lighting control offering that integrates data seamlessly into the company’s existing data and management platform, Enterprise Vue. The announcement marks Lutron’s first venture into the outdoor lighting control space.

Lutron partnered with TwistHDM to deliver a wireless outdoor lighting solution that boasts remote control and management, universal code compliance and a streamlined specification process. To specify Limelight by Lutron, lighting designers must simply identify the number of fixtures in a space.

“As a company devoted to simplifying the smart building and bringing IoT connectivity to more spaces, we recognized an opportunity for an outdoor solution that was simple to design and supported by our Enterprise Vue management software,” said Scott Hanna, Vice President, Commercial Systems and Communications at Lutron Electronics. “We chose to partner with TwistHDM because of their quality offerings, deep expertise and the strong alignment of their wireless platform with our existing software. The data available through Limelight by Lutron delivers an unparalleled experience for customers that have come to expect the usability and control of our interior offerings.”

Limelight by Lutron provides facility managers with energy usage metrics and system alerts that enable more informed management of outdoor lighting. All data provided is compiled within the Enterprise Vue software platform so that a facility’s interior and exterior lighting can be controlled from one dashboard.

“With nearly a decade of experience in the industry, our mission has always been to create safer, more sustainable environments – a goal that Lutron shares,” said Bob Niemiec, Managing Partner at TwistHDM. “Our collaboration has yielded an easy-to-install exterior control solution that reaches those objectives and raises the standard for the complete lighting control of facilities and campuses.”

About Limelight (www.twisthdm.com)
Limelight was developed in 2008 by Twisthink, a strategic innovation firm, with one goal: to create the smartest outdoor lighting control system in the market. TwistHDM is based in West Michigan, where Limelight is locally manufactured and has deployments throughout North and Central America. Limelight’s universal wireless modules are capable of working with any LED fixture, factory or field installed. The controls leverage occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, event scheduling, and zoning to use energy only when, where and to what degree is needed, resulting in an energy savings of at least 50%. Limelight also decreases maintenance costs with email alert notifications, fault detection, and remote monitoring. TwistHDM is moving forward to leverage the demand response capabilities in smart cities, autonomous vehicles, mass transit and universities.
