The right sensor depends on what you want the sensor to do for you, as well as your electrical requirements.
*Occupancy sensors turn lights on when you enter a room and turn them off when you leave.

What rooms are good for motion sensors?

Any room that you enter frequently with your arms full, like a garage or a laundry room, is good for a sensor. Sensors are also great for rooms where lights are often accidentally left on, such as bathrooms and kids’ bedrooms.

Where can I buy a Lutron motion sensor?

You can buy Lutron motion sensors in home improvement stores, through electrical distributors, and on Amazon. Shop for a Lutron motion sensor or Caseta Wireless.

Will the lights turn off if I’m in the room but not moving?

Lutron sensors feature XCT sensing technology, which detects fine motion, such as turning the pages of a book, ensuring lights do not turn off inadvertently. If you’re moving a little, the lights will stay on.

Is installing a motion sensor difficult?

No, installation isn’t difficult. You can install a sensor in 3 steps. All you need is a screwdriver and about 15 minutes. If you’re uncomfortable with electrical projects, an electrical contractor can easily and quickly do the installation for you. Click here to view videos on how to install a Lutron motion sensor.

Where can I find help installing a motion sensor?
Can I use a sensor for my fan?

Yes! The MS-OPS5M can handle 3 Amp of fan motor. The MS-OPS2 is rated for lighting loads only.
