Background
Southern California brings to mind swaying palms, breezy beaches, and endless sunshine. For one Los Angeles-area homeowner, the challenge was to recreate the rejuvenating qualities of the outdoors to create a home and family sanctuary.
Design Details
The design employs a bright and airy build, centered around open concept cooking, dining, and entertaining. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide beautiful views and an abundance of natural daylight, which is extended throughout the bedrooms and common areas with Ketra downlights, lamps, and fixtures. Simply Home Entertainment installed and programmed Ketra lighting and Lutron Palladiom shades, creating a dynamic environment that adjusts to homeowner preferences.
Results
The resulting home exhibits clean lines, simple elegance, and a highly personalized environment that connects dwellers to their natural surroundings. The lights can be adjusted for cooking in the professional-grade kitchen—then dimmed to a warm glow for extended evenings of food, conversation, family, and friends. Shades in the bedroom support the overall connection to nature with automated scenes, such as gently rising with the lights each morning.
