INAUGURAL NEMMY AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

PORTSMOUTH, NH, – At the 2018 NEMRA Annual Conference, the association awarded the first of its annual NEMMY Awards. These awards recognize representative and manufacturing firms that are dedicated to developing more powerful and profitable selling partnerships.

“The NEMMYs build on NEMRA’s Power Pact initiative which was introduced at last year’s conference,” said Ken Hooper, president of NEMRA. “It was a great honor for NEMRA to recognize four member firms who have embraced the Power Pact philosophy. The honorees have demonstrated their commitment to strengthening the representative-manufacturer sales model.”

The first award – The Power Pact Partnership of the Year – was presented to Larry Rodger III, President of Synergy Electrical Sales of Fairless Hills, PA and Brian Donlon, Vice President of North American Sales at Lutron Electronics.

The Power Pact Partnership of the Year celebrates a representative-manufacturer team that exemplifies the spirit of Power Pact. The winning business team needed to demonstrate how they developed a more strategic plan and approach to create a more powerful and profitable partnership.

Through a multi-year plan of mutual investments and human resource commitments, Lutron and Synergy built a strong value proposition with which to penetrate the Philadelphia-area market.

“Synergy and Lutron truly embody the spirit of this award,” said Hooper. “Their successful relationship, built on a platform of mutual strategic investments, a solid business plan with abundant sales support, and a joint desire to excel is a winning Power Pact Partnership model.”

The second award – The Manufacturer’s Choice Award – went to Willis Milner and the team at United Electrical Sales (UES).
The Manufacturer’s Choice Award recognizes the rep agency that uses the Power Pact and Rep of the Future concepts to continually improve their agency and its alignment with manufacturers.

United Electrical Sales’ approach to aligning closely with their manufacturer’s starts with a thorough understanding of strategic objectives and how UES can contribute to goal attainment.

“A common theme expressed in the comments from United’s manufacturers centered on the ‘can do’ attitude of the UES team. Their positive company culture places an emphasis on continuous improvement, which greatly benefits their selling partnerships,” remarked Mr. Hooper.

The third, and final award presented – The Rep’s Choice Award – went to Arlington Industries.

The Rep’s Choice Award recognizes the manufacturer that uses the Power Pact concepts to continually improve their value proposition to their sales force and customers.

Known for its strong culture of product innovation, superior customer service, and steadfast support of their independent representative sales force, Arlington was the clear winner in this category.

“Under the skilled leadership of its President, Tom Stark, the entire Arlington team has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to supporting their sales team and their customers. As one rep commented, ‘Arlington is the benchmark for a Rep-Manufacturer Partnership,’” concluded Hooper.
